GENERAL SITUATION: A cold front moving towards the Central Bahamas will continue sliding southeastwards.

Special Warnings! Swimmers and Mariners are being urged to continue to exercise extreme caution for high surf conditions and the possibility of rip currents that are expected to persist through next week.

Thursday 27th – Variable cloudiness and windy with widely scattered showers and a few isolated thunderstorms in the Northwest & Central Bahamas, and partly sunny and breezy with a chance of a few passing, becoming cloudy tonight in the southern islands. Maximum Temperature 77°F and Minimum Temperature 68°F. Small Craft Advisory in effect for the Northwest & Central Bahamas and a Small Craft Caution is in effect for the Southeast Bahamas. Winds N 15-25 knots in the Northwest & Central Bahamas, and E 15-20 knots in the Southeast Bahamas. Seas 5-8 feet in the Northwest & Central Bahamas and 4-7 feet in the southern islands.

Friday 28th – Partly sunny, windy and cool across the Northwest & Central Bahamas, but cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms over the Southeast Bahamas. Maximum Temperature 78°F and Minimum Temperature 69°F. Small Craft Caution in effect for the Northwest & Central Bahamas and Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the Southeast Bahamas. Winds SE-S 15-20 knots in the Northwest & Central Bahamas, and E-SE 20-25 knots in the Southeast Bahamas. Seas 4-6 feet in the Northwest & Central Bahamas and 7-10 feet in the Southeast Bahamas, but higher in moderate to large east-southeast swells over the ocean.
