Another hospitality industry gold has been awarded to Nassau’s Sandyport Beaches Resort and Hotel, the highest acclaim achievable in RCI’s vacation exchange programme. Awards are largely determined by vacationers’ comments and site inspections.

Vernon Moss, the property general manager said the Gold Crown award is a success for the management and staff.

“I have very dedicated staff and we’ve been together for so long that we truly feel like a family; we love what we do and it makes our day when our repeat guests walk through the door as they’re always so excited to see us.

This is a wonderful hospitality environment and we thrive on the pleasure of our guests, we love to see them happy,” said the long time general Manager, Vernon Moss.

This is the second consecutive win for the 72-room Sandyport hotel that has seen a record breaking year with several sell-out periods.

This year also, room and granite-top kitchen upgrades, new local artwork and Bahama Handprint fabrics were added to the décor along with the launch of the resort’s new website www.sandyportresort.com. The resort is popular with vacationers and business travelers who like the convenience and choice of having an ensuite living room and kitchen.

Gordon Gurnik, president of RCI said he was thrilled to once again recognize Sandyport’s achievement. He said that the award was in recognition of its superior resort facilities and services and commended the management and staff for the extraordinary commitment to quality and service.

“RCI® presents this award to your property, one of a prestigious group of affiliated resorts, based upon a 12-month compilation of exchange guest assessments, which include resort quality, service delivery, and overall vacation experience, as well as an evaluation of resort facilities, amenities and guest services. We’re proud of your accomplishment.”

Following last year’s Gold Crown award win Minister of Tourism, Obie Wilchcombe attended a plaque presentation at the resort and said that everybody’s efforts count every day in tourism and this major industry honour speaks to that as well as contributing to the overall growth of tourism in The Bahamas.

“It’s a major accomplishment and certainly an achievement,” said the Minister.

“It speaks for the brand they have here and the services provided. It’s a contribution to the overall growth of the tourism industry and more particularly it speaks for the Bahamian quality of service that we emphasize, particularly this year as the Ministry of Tourism celebrates its 50th Anniversary.”

There are only 3 resorts in the Bahamas that are RCI Gold Crown. A select number of RCI affiliated resorts worldwide meet RCI’s requirements for recognition and have earned the RCI Gold Crown Resort award. These resorts have attained high levels of excellence in resort accommodations, hospitality and member experience ratings as measured by RCI.

The Sandyport Beaches Resort and Hotel is on the canal front in the upscale residential and busy commercial community of the Sandyport Marina Village on West Bay Street.

Seventy two, attractive hotel rooms, studios, one, two and three bedroom suites with kitchen and living room ensure holiday and business travelers immediate home comfort needs are met, including Wi-Fi. The complex includes two ocean beaches, lagoon beach, and one of only three resort lagoon pools worldwide.

A peaceful Family Island ambiance works well the option of the bustling Olde Towne at Sandyport shops and restaurants and the casino and nightlife of Cable Beach, nearby.
