NEW YORK -- A book of condolence has been opened at the Bahamas Mission to the United Nations in New York, to allow members of the diplomatic community and the Bahamian diaspora in New York to pay last respects to Dr. Myles Munroe, an internationally-renowned leadership coach and spiritual leader who perished in a plane crash in Grand Bahama last Sunday along with his wife, Ruth, and seven others.
The memorial gesture was sparked by the number of telephone calls to Dr. Elliston Rahming, Bahamas ambassador to the United Nations and the Organization of American States, from members of the diplomatic community who expressed shock and grief at Dr. Munroe's tragic death.
Rahming said, "Dr. Munroe and I were childhood friends. We were born five days apart in 1954. Even as a teenager, Dr. Munroe understood his purpose and used his special gifts to maximize his potential. He was a towering intellect, a multidimensional talent and a servant of God with global appeal."
