GENERAL SITUATION: A weakening cold front entering the Northwest Bahamas today will continue to slowly drift southeastwards into the Central Bahamas tonight.

SPECIAL WARNINGS!! Swells from distant hurricane Gonzalo will produce dangerous rip currents and rough surf so beachgoers and swimmers as well as boaters should exercise extreme caution along the Atlantic exposed shorelines of the islands.

Thursday 16th – Variable cloudiness with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms along the front with clearing behind the front by tonight in the Northwest Bahamas, but partly to mostly sunny and warm with few showers possible today in the Central & Southeast Bahamas; turning fair tonight with isolated showers mainly across the Central Bahamas as the front approaches . Maximum Temperature 90°F and Minimum Temperature 75°F. Winds SW-W 10-15 knots ahead of the front becoming northwesterly at 10-15 knots behind the front. Winds will be W-NW 10-15 knots in the central and southern islands. Seas 2-4 feet near shore and 8-12 feet offshore in moderate to large easterly swells.

Friday 17th – Partly sunny and pleasant during the day; fair and cool at night. Maximum Temperature 88°F and Minimum Temperature 69°F. Winds NW-W 10-15 knots in the Northwest & Central Bahamas and W-NW at 10 knots or less in the Southeast Bahamas. Seas 2-4 feet near the shore but 6-8 feet in northeasterly sea swell out to sea.

Saturday 18th – Partly sunny and pleasant during the day; clear skies and cool tonight. Maximum Temperature 89°F and Minimum Temperature 76°F. Winds NW-N at 10 knots or less. Seas 1-3 feet near the shore and up to 5 feet offshore in lingering swells out to sea.

Sunday 19th – Mostly sunny and pleasant in the Northwest & Central Bahamas, however, scattered showers and possible thunderstorms in the Southeast Bahamas. Maximum Temperature 89°F and Minimum Temperature 74°F. Winds NE at 10 knots. Seas 3 feet or less over the ocean higher in Northeasterly in swells.

Monday 20th – Mostly sunny and pleasant in the Northwest & Central Bahamas, however, scattered showers in the Southeast Bahamas. Maximum Temperature 89°F and Minimum Temperature 74°F. Winds NE at 10 knots. Seas 3 feet or less over the ocean.

Tuesday 21st – Partly sunny conditions expected with occasional showers during early morning and evening hours. Maximum Temperature 90°F and Minimum Temperature 73°F. Winds E at 10 knots light and variable at times. Seas 3 feet or less over the ocean.

Wednesday 22nd – Cloudy, warm and humid with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. Maximum Temperature 90°F and Minimum Temperature 73°F. Winds E at 10 knots light and variable at times. Seas 3 feet or less over the ocean.
