Fri, Oct 10th 2014, 03:00 PM

The public and the press are invited to visit the "Conch Cracking Photo, Arts and Craft Exhibition" as part of the Conch Cracking Festival in McLean's Town, East Grand Bahama on Heroes Holiday Monday, 13 October, 2014. This first time arts exhibition will be held in the newly rebuilt and refurbished building now known as the East End Youth Center, just east of the festival site on the school grounds from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Nature and culture with a focus on East Grand Bahama will be the theme. All the photo art will be by H. Rudy Sawyer and it will be his first time public exhibition. Young up-and-coming and talented artist from High Rock, Grand Bahama, Mario Neymour, will also be exhibiting his oil, acrylic, water color, and pencil pieces. The award-winning craft production of Kathy Laing from Pelican Point will be part of the show as well as pieces from resident crafter Leroy Glinton from McLean's Town.

There will be a combination silent and public auction of some of the art works while others will be priced for direct sales. A special option will be available to all patrons to have any of the photos on display printed on the spot in sizes up to 8 x 10. The photo printing option will also be available for the printing of patrons' own pictures taken at the festival or otherwise. Mat framing will also be available at the exhibition hall.

Besides supporting artistic talent, part proceeds from the exhibition will go to the McLean's Town Conch Cracking Committee in support of community development. Your support and patronage will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
