Scotiabank Receives BIFS Awards

The Bahamas Institute of Financial Services (BIFS) awarded Scotiabank the T. Baswell Donaldson Floating Trophy for the institute with the highest number of employees enrolled in the various courses offered at BIFS during the past academic year 2013/14.

Kim Bodie, BIFS’ Executive Director, presented Natalie McCabe, Scotiabank’s Human Resources Director with the trophy along with a plaque for Scotiabank’s long-standing commitment to BIFS as the bank has consistently supported BIFS over the years.

Scotiabank currently serves as a Senior Corporate Member of BIFS and has held corporate membership with the organization since its inception 40 years ago, in 1974, with a number of Scotiabank employees serving in key BIFS positions, including president, over the years.

Scotiabank is a permanent member of BIFS’ Council and part of the governing body.

Scotiabank employees performed exceptionally well, graduating from a wide cross-section of courses.

Notably, Teneil Saunders received the Most Outstanding Student, Fundamentals of Trust Law and Administration Level 1 award; Shakisha Pearce was the Most Outstanding Student, Mandarin Chinese 1 and Daren Seymour was one of only three recipients to earn the Chartered Banker MBA.
