Do you have the correct fire extinguishers in your business? Are they properly maintained? Do your employees know what to do in case of a fire?

How do you make sure your facilities are safe for your employees and customers?

Having well trained staff who are equipped with an appropriate level of knowledge and understanding of fire and its consequences is an asset to any business, and a demonstration by the employer, of their commitment toward the education and protection of their workforce and those who may visit their premises.

In an effort to reinforce their Quality Management System, manage their fire risks, and reinforce Health and Safety in the workplace, Ports International's employees received a Fire Safety Training and Demonstration from local company Bahamas Fire & Safety.

The training included a practical demonstration on the safe use of portable firefighting equipment, during which the staff were invited to participate.

The training covered: fire safety, theory, causes of fire, fire risk assessment, fire safety measures, evacuation procedures, portable fire equipment as well as a practical demonstration.

At the end of the training session, Ports employees were presented with certificates to demonstrate that their staff have been trained to required standards to deal with fire in the workplace.
