The iCreate Music All Access Seminar is being described as the ultimate music industry networking opportunity to come to New Providence by organizer Gregory Collie.
The two-day music seminar will encompass songwriter workshops, producer beat battles, informative panels, listening sessions and music showcases. Collie said the seminar is for anyone looking to get into the music industry whether they are artists, producers, songwriters, or music managers. Panelists from the music industry in the United States will provide patrons with the information they need to know about the business.
"The seminar is information based, so people are going to learn more for it and they're going to network," said Collie. "It's up to the individual to take what they've learnt and the relationships they build through the seminar and take advantage of them and make a career for themselves."
On the panel for the seminar according to Collie will be Kawan "KP" Prather, senior vice president of artists and repertoire (A&R) for Atlantic Records; Tony G, director of A&R at G-Unit Records; Symbolyc One (S1), music producer for Jay Z, Kanye West, Eminem and Beyonce; Donnie Scantz, music producer/engineer for Usher, Jhene Aiko and Miguel; Focus, music producer for 50 Cent, Beyonce and The Game; singer Asia Bryant and Inga Nandi Williams, manager and songwriter for N'Sync, Donell Jones and TLC.
There will also be a beat battle, during which patrons will have their music heard by the panelists.
Collie who describes himself as a music producer who has worked with a number of local talent held his first iCreate Music All Access Seminar in 2011 after traveling the United States between 2007 and 2009 attending music seminars and conferences. That gave him the inspiration to create a music seminar for New Providence to expose Bahamian artists to the information they would need to further their career.
"There's a huge void here to be filled and lack of opportunity, lack of education, so I thought it would be the perfect platform and that's why I decided to do it. I wanted to provide this opportunity for the people that really wanted it and who want to make the music industry their career.
Registration for the two day seminar is $250. The seminar runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Prince of Wales Room in the Beach Towers at the Atlantis.
