An accused murderer will stand trial three years after he allegedly committed the offense.
Jermaine Missick, 30, otherwise known as "Bats", pleaded not guilty to the murder of Marcus Miller during his arraignment before Senior Supreme Court Justice Jon Isaacs.
Miller was shot outside his home in Miller's Heights on January 6. He died in hospital on January 13.
Isaacs directed the registrar to appoint an attorney and scheduled a trial date of April 3, 2017.
A man accused of three counts of attempted murder will also be tried in 2017.
Anthony Sullivan, 29, was wearing an ankle bracelet when he allegedly seriously wounded Lenny Oscar, Dellareese Curry and Chestinique Wilson during an April 25, 2014 shooting.
Sullivan denied the allegation when he appeared before Isaacs.
He is scheduled to be tried on April 10, 2017 before Justice Vera Watkins.
