Empathy is in short supply

Just about every day one notices a whole lot of individuals who are totally obsessed with themselves. When you have a problem and are endeavoring to get some encouragement from one of these types of totally self-absorbed individuals, once you have annunciated your feelings to them and described the dilemma you're in, the very first thing which they usually do is to start stating what their problems are whilst completely ignoring what you just articulated about your problems. Yes indeed, as the title of today's article states it empathy is in short supply. Yes indeed it is, and more's the pity.
Don't ever forget, that the world in which we live and our individual life are governed by a set of universal laws. Now one of the most important of these universal laws is the law of cause and effect. This law simply states, that what we put out we get back, as we sow, so shall we reap. So, in a nutshell, if we spend our days and nights completely self-absorbed thinking only of ourselves and displaying no empathy whatsoever for others when they're experiencing trouble in their life, well then, when we go through difficulties and are experiencing problems of great magnitude, we'll be left to deal with these matters completely alone, for as we have sown in the past, so we will now have to put up with the consequences of our actions, some time back. Yes indeed, we all need to display more empathy to others who are going through tough times, after all, it's the spiritual thing to do. Yes it is!
Empathy is the ability to see things through the eyes of others, or as one person put it, the ability to mentally walk for a mile in the Indian's moccasins. It's being able to feel what another person is actually going through, thus being able to console and comfort them when they really need it. Neil Gaiman said this about empathy: "Empathy is a tool for building people into groups, for allowing us to function as more than self-obsessed individuals." Oh how very well put there by Neil Gaiman.
So my friend, why don't you, from now onwards endeavor to display empathy to all who may confide in you, so that you can then encourage them to overcome their difficulties and thus finally move on to better times.
