During the late hours of Monday July 22nd 2013, a fire in the shanty town located off Joe Farrington Road went ablaze. As homes were destroyed by the fire, over one hundred and fifty residents of the shanty town were displaced and the majority were unable to salvage personal belongings.

Hon. Ryan Pinder applauds the immediate response of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, especially the Fire Department and all officers.
