Contract signed for architectural design of Marsh Harbour Airport Terminal (Aug 4) Public Works and Transport Minister the Hon. Neko C. Grant signed a $600,000 contract with the Architects Incorporated Company for the architectural design of the Marsh Harbour Airport terminal building and fire/crash facility.
The current 3,315 square feet building will be replaced with a new 24,000 square feet single storey terminal and fire crash facility immediately west of the existing terminal.

Abaco power woes costing firms 50 (Jul 22) Brownouts, blackouts and fried equipment continue to plague Abaco, with one store owner Monday saying business had fallen 50 per cent because of the power issues, while one hardware store said commerce was flowing because of it.

Peter Bradley said his company, Conch Pearl Gallery, had lost half its business because of the consistent power cuts across the island, as tourists - his biggest customers - peer into the darkened store and subsequently leave.

Bird impacts construction of Abaco development (Jul 16) Construction of the multi-million dollar Schooner Bay community in South Abaco has been affected by a small bird, which recently made a nest and gave birth in the middle of a construction area designated to receive fill and grading work.

The discovery of the bird, an Antellian Night Hawk, caused the location where the bird was residing to be flagged off, with work crews and drivers working around the marked site.
