Physiotherapy – (referred to as Physical Therapy in the USA), focuses on promoting, maintaining and restoring the physical aspects of health. Physiotherapists rehabilitate movement disorders, helping our patients recover normal physical function, mobility and quality of life after an injury, illness or disease.

Physiotherapists employ many different methods of treatment including exercise and massage, heat, electric and electromagnetic equipment, light and sound. The Physiotherapist’s often prescribes a combination of interventions to help our patients achieve optimal functional recovery.

Many patients arrive at their first physiotherapy appointment expecting to receive hot packs, ultrasound and instructions for exercises. Manual therapy is a specialized form of physiotherapy delivered with skilled hands rather than a device to deliver a therapeutic effect. PRC physiotherapists all use their hands to put pressure on muscle tissue and to manipulate joints in an attempt to decrease pain, increase range of motion, reduce or eliminate soft tissue inflammation, induce relaxation, improve contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility and stability, and to facilitate movement and function. PRC physiotherapists use his or her "caring hands" to help you to move and to feel better.
