WHAT ARE THE KIDS SAYING?
"This Camp Millionaire is an amazing tool that I will keep with me for the rest of my life. I learned so much while having lots of fun. The stories and life experiences made me understand how important it is to learn about money and how to handle money. The games helped also and whole thing was a grand experience. Thank you."
Samantha, Age 15
"For myself, being 18, I wasn't quite sure what to do with money other than spend it. Camp Millionaire has really impacted my life, in teaching me how to diversify my money and learning how to make money work for me."
Grant, Age 18
"If you have not already detected my enthusiasm about what you are doing, let me reiterate that you have a wonderful concept and program. For so many parents, they view the time when their teenager gets her/his driver's license as a rite of passage into her/his independence. Truly, as important as driver's education is to their child's independence, so is proper money management. I think Camp Millionaire is a must."
Phoebe, A Parent
WHAT IS CAMP MILLIONAIRE?
The Program
Chances are, you would probably be closer to your financial goals if you had learned how to manage your money and invest it for the future when you were young. Camp Millionaire gives your kids the financial education foundation they need to meet and exceed their financial goals when they grow up.
Camp Millionaire is an innovative activity-based financial literacy program for kids and teens. This day camp will teach your kids how to make, manage and multiply their money. Using interactive games, activities, and field trips, kids learn the basic time-tested principles of creating financial freedom while having FUN!
Through high-impact processes, exercises, games and activities, your kids will learn:
How to make their money in jobs and businesses.
How to manage their money with budgeting.
How to multiply their money through investing.
How to think like and develop the habits of a wealthy person.
How to develop passive income stream by investing in assets.
How money can be used to give back and help their communities grow.
And so much more!!
Our focus is on teaching kids how to grow up financially independent, but our overall mission is showing kids how they can reach their dreams. We empower kids by giving them the knowledge that they are fully in charge of creating their own lives, and that includes how much money they want to have when they grow up. Your child will walk out of our program truly feeling like they can be a millionaire one day.
The ABCs of Money
An Article from Tonic.com
Braiding lanyards, playing softball, swimming in the lake? That’s child’s play compared with a new camp that teaches kids about fiscal responsibility. The New York Times reports a company called Financially Free is helping kids become more money savvy in a course called “Camp Millionaire.”
The five-day camp in Allentown, Pa. teaches kids basics like the importance of having more money coming in than going out, how to allocate money for expenses like college and savings, and help dispel myths about the rich and poor, all with the aim of showing kids how sound and responsible financial planning can help them become millionaires.
Other programs aimed at kids have also sprung up. Warren Buffett is planning a new Web cartoon called “Secret Millionaires Club” that teaches kids the fundamentals of good investing like identifying a product that people actually want to buy.
Sounds simple, right? One can’t help but wonder if more adults were familiar with these basics, the financial crisis might have been averted.

Summer Camp for Children at Popop
July 9th – August 4th, 2012
Program Description
As part of Popopstudios’ ongoing educational programming initiative a summer camp will be held to cater to aspiring young artists between the ages of 8-16 years. During the camp they will exposed to various disciplines and participate in both group and individual activities.
Their experience will be enhanced by weekly trips to galleries and nature preserves with assignments being formatted to encompass dominant themes in the places visited. The camp will be divided into four weekly sessions with workdays starting at 9am and ending at 3pm. An optional lunch package will be offered separate from the initial fee. At the end of the month a one-day exhibition will be held showcasing the work that the children made over the course of the camp.
Overview
The camp will be separated into weekly sessions with two assignments running consecutively daily. One assignment will be an individual project that must be completed within the week while the other will be a group project that continues over the one-month period. Students will be divided into three groups of 5-7 people, with each group having an instructor (professional artist or educator) and intern (art student enrolled at a college/university). Groups will be divided based on age and skill level.
The group project will be an outdoor sculpture/mural project, which will remain on Popop’s grounds and focus on the overall theme of the camp. Individual projects will be modeled around the designated weekly fieldtrips.
Each week will begin with a short presentation that familiarizes the students with the topic for their individual projects and will culminate in a field trip to a gallery/preserve/workshop. The camp is organized so that students can choose to participate for one week or an entire month. As students will change weekly, participation in the one-day exhibition will be
Weekly Schedule
Classes will run Monday-Friday, 9am -3 pm. Mondays will begin with a 10 – 15 minute presentation and discussion focusing on the topic for the week. As it is unlikely that field trips will last the entire day students will be given the option of using the remainder of their time to either complete their individual assignments, or if they are done, work on the group project.
Daily Schedule
Days will be divided into three sessions with a 15-minute break in the morning and 45 minutes for lunch.
The schedule will change slightly on Mondays and Fridays. On Monday 15 minutes of the morning session will be allocated to the topic presentation and discussion. All field trips will begin at 9:15 on Fridays. Students should return to Popop’s grounds by 12:30. After lunch students can either complete their individual projects or work on the group project.
