Architecture, Design and Sustainable Development
National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB)
June 21st, 6:30PM – 8:30PM
Wouldn’t it be great to have a smart, stimulating conversation that was actually interesting?
We think so too.
Our big idea at tmg* is to make Nassau a more liveable city by providing a forum for intelligent, engaging and diverse conversation. tmg* talks is a series of panel discussions among innovators in related industries about design, business and the creative economy in The Bahamas. Our panellists and audience come from all professions but share an interest in stimulating and relevant conversations that they can’t find anywhere else.
tmg* talks is the Bahamas’ only panel conversation on design, business and the creative economy.
The big idea behind tmg* talks is to make Nassau a more liveable city by encouraging diverse thinking and openness. It’s an experiment that should continue.

Last year, we started tmg* talks, a 3-series panel discussion on architecture, design, the Bahamian narrative and the creative economy. This year we’re focussing on sustain+ability, but not just in the green sense. The ability to sustain involves a strategic design process. We’re talking about the built environment, the economy and well, about people. That’s why we’ve put together an amazing group of panellists who are changing business paradigms and creative ecosystems.
The three sessions will occur monthly from June to August .

tmg* talks presents discussion on Built Environment Sustainability
"Architecture, Design and
Sustainable Development"
Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 6:30pm
National Art Gallery of The Bahamas
tmg* stands for The Method Group and they are hosting a series of talks this summer on sustainable development from a national economic, human and physical development perspective. Last year, they looked at how architecture and design show a city’s character and inform our behaviour in a space. This year, tmg* wants to talk about the importance of holistic design, sustainable architecture and planning in land development, especially on islands with an expanding population. Is this type of design thinking happening? Are there policies in place to support it? If not, what can we do about it?
On Thursday, June 21st at the NAGB beginning at 6.30pm, tmg* will be hosting its first talk of the season on "Architecture, Design and Sustainable Development".
Panelists: Franon Wilson, President, Arawak Homes | Carlos Hepburn, Principal, TDG Architects | James Malcolm, Director of Marketing, Sales and Public Relations, Schooner Bay, Abaco
