Fort Lauderdale, FL??Horizons Marketing Group, www.BAHAMASFRANCHISESUMMIT.com, and the National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators & Developers (NABHOOD) will present its International Franchise & Entrepreneurial Summit & Trade Show at the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau. It is supported by the International Franchise Association (IFA), Bahamas Chamber of Commerce, United States Embassy Nassau, Inter-American Development Bank, Nassau Airport Development Company, HVS Caribbean and Entrepreneur Venture Fund Ltd.


Match-making pre-screened, one-on-one meetings will be held with potential franchisees on April 20th for our franchisors. A Private Networking Reception will be held in the evening. We will be connecting diversified businesses or franchisors, including multi-unit franchising from around the world, to potential buyers or business partners. Companies will provide business development packages on their brand(s). Entrepreneurs and anyone interested in franchising are encouraged to register for the workshops and expo on Saturday, April 21st.


Workshops will introduce you to the value and economics of franchising & entrepreneurship. You will hear from international franchise experts, entrepreneurs and business owners including Reggie Wright, Director of Franchising, Dunkin Brands; David Benton, Director of International Development, Global Franchise Group; Lowell Hawthorne, President/CEO, Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery & Grill; Bahamian Airport Gift Shop entrepreneur, Pat Mortimer of Cays Gifts & News; Elaine Pinder, owner of Bamboo Shack Restaurants and others, who will share tips to help you become a successful business owner. Presenters will share information on business opportunities and successful concepts & models. The presenters include Jose Salvadore Icaza, of Choice Hotels International, to talk about opportunities in the small hotel industry; Michael Roberts, Chairman, Roberts Hotels Group LLC; Erin Snyder of Papa John?s Pizza; Larry Van Dusseldorp of EWize Marketing 4U and others. Franchisors will be looking for partners who are interested in going into business.


On Saturday, entrepreneurs will take part in the ?5 Minute Elevator Pitch? to win $1,000 along with ten (10) hours of technical services which includes legal and financial to help start or expand their business. There will be other give-a-ways including a business venture allowing you to start your own business without upfront investment.


Franchising & entrepreneurship has become the dominant method for the creation of wealth through small business ownership.
